Irrigation System Design & Install

With Edgewater you can count on a superior irrigation system design. Designing an irrigation system involves several key steps. First, assess your landscape by measuring the area and noting plant types, soil, and sun exposure. Determine your water supply by checking the source, pressure, and flow rate. Choose between drip irrigation for precise watering or a sprinkler system for larger areas. Plan the layout to ensure even coverage and divide the landscape into zones based on plant needs. Select compatible components like sprinkler heads, drip emitters, pipes, valves, and a controller. Develop an installation plan and include efficiency features like rain sensors and smart controllers. Careful planning and design ensure efficient water use, promote healthy plant growth, and avoid issues such as water wastage and uneven watering.

Installing an irrigation system involves several steps. First, create a layout plan based on your design, marking where pipes, valves, and sprinkler heads will go. Then, dig trenches for the pipes according to the layout. Lay the main line pipes and connect them to the water source. Install zone valves to control different sections of the system. Attach the pipes to the valves and extend them to the sprinkler heads or drip emitters, securing all connections. Finally, connect the irrigation controller, program the watering schedule, and test the system to ensure proper operation and coverage. Fill in the trenches once everything is working correctly.
