Spring Start-Up

Irrigation spring start-up involves preparing and activating an irrigation system after it has been dormant during the winter months. At Edgewater, our spring start up service activates your irrigation system from the isolation valve, first checking that the mainline is working properly and has no leaks. We then run through each zone manually, inspecting your system and making any obvious adjustments or repairs to minor deficiencies.

A residential or commercial irrigation system that has been shut down for the winter can bring some surprises during a start up in spring. In most cases, minor irrigation system repairs can be done during start up. Any materials used during a spring start up will be charged as extras, and any larger sprinkler repairs or upgrades will be noted on your invoice. In the case of major repairs, a quotation or further site visit will be advised or scheduled. There are some instances where a system cannot be left activated until the repair is done, such as leaks on main line connections, main line breaks, or valve manifold issues. The main valve will be shut and we will quote you on the repair needed.
